For the 2009/2010 year ongoing membership at Fellow, Clinical or Member is dependent upon your reporting only on the receipt of a minimum of 10 hours of clinical supervision. Reporting forms are downloadable, which also provide some guidelines where your practice is not clinically oriented. This will be an ongoing annual requirement.
Reporting on Professional Development activities will now be required every second year, beginning with next years renewals. This means that by July 2010, you will have needed to complete 20 hours of PD activities since July 2008. The definition of PD activities is as follows:
PD Activities
There is a strong preference for face to face activities, such as seminars and workshops, conference attendance, or further training. These should be related to improving your practice, so workshops on practice management, specific techniques or clinical application areas (or area of practice for non-clinical members) are acceptable, as well as those that are Gestalt specific. However, attending a seminar on marketing or financial management would not be acceptable.
Other activities that will be recognized are: presenting at conferences on gestalt related topics; presenting seminars/ workshops of a gestalt nature (excluding delivering training programmes as a faculty trainer); having an article published in a peer reviewed journal; and up to 10 hours of supervision over and above that reported on annual supervision forms. It is acknowledged that members who live in places remote from large centres may have some difficulty in meeting these hours in the ways suggested, and so self development activities such as journal reading may be acceptable for up to half of the required hours in this instance.
Other activities that you consider to be suitable may be listed for consideration. If you have been unable to meet the requirements, please outline reasons why your ongoing membership should be considered.
