Race and Racism: From ideology to consequences in client work and colleagueship

2 May 2026 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm AEST

This 3 hour webinar will expose how ideologies around race are consistent, invisible and how racism is reproduced by good people, with adverse consequences. Central to the scene setting is an understanding of the distinction between racial discrimination (people/organisations treating racialised people unfairly) and systemic and institutional racism that is reproduced as we become habituated in expectation of ourselves and other groups.

The session will adopt a participatory and dialogical approach supported by work on creating a safe-enough environment to lean into the uncertain. The facilitator will seek a commitment from participants to support their colleagues present with a non-judgemental mindset.

Date:                   Saturday 2nd May

Time:                   9am-12pm AEST (Melbourne/Sydney)
