Description
This ticket grants access to a webinar held on Saturday, 2 May, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm AEST (Melbourne/Sydney).
This three-hour webinar explores how ideologies around race operate in ways that are often invisible yet consistently reproduced in everyday interactions. The session will examine the distinction between racial discrimination — where individuals or organisations treat racialised people unfairly — and systemic or institutional racism, which is sustained through cultural norms, expectations and habitual practices.
Participants will be invited to reflect on how these dynamics can shape therapeutic work and professional relationships with colleagues. The webinar adopts a participatory and dialogical approach, with a focus on creating a safe-enough space for open exploration and discussion. Attendees will be encouraged to engage with curiosity and support one another through a non-judgemental mindset.
This event is designed to deepen awareness of how race and racism can influence clinical practice, while fostering thoughtful dialogue and shared learning among practitioners.
